Resting in Seattle

We have been able to sell some of the blouses we brought from India for fundraising purposes.  We designed and had stitched approximately 60 blouses with an India-Western fusion feel.  The profits will go towards The Orphanage Project – the treats we buy the children, the school supplies we purchase for tutoring, the materials we have photocopied or purchase for distribution to people at the marketplace and elsewhere, travel expenses, etc.

On Friday, I shared about The Orphanage Project with a group of young people that are planning on taking a missions trip to India this summer.  They are hoping to spend a week or so with The Orphanage Project.  I am excited to have our first set of volunteers.  I shared with them about the different things we have been doing.  But, also dropped a footnote that things are always changing in India, with slum being torn down etc, so I have no idea what we will be up to when they arrive.  The young people are committed to helping us in any way that they can.

I heard this past weekend approximately twelve children showed up for the Sunday prayer fellowship.  Praise God!  That is a good thing.  One of our greatest concerns has been that when we return to India, we won’t know where the children are.  As long as they keep coming on Sunday, it will be easier to track them down upon our return.

Scripture for the Day:

Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.  James 5:16.
