New York Convention

The New York convention was different than the other conventions that we have been a part of in terms of I didn’t feel like there was as great an outpouring of miracles, signs and wonders.  But, I believe the Lord was doing a deeper work in the inner man.  I was surprised at the number of young people who openly asked me to pray that their prayer lives would get back on track…that they would find their first love again…that they would serve God.  I totally fell in love with the young people in New York.  They were so hungry for more of Him.  I am certain the Lord is going to bring an outpouring to that place.

It was pouring rain the first two nights of the convention.  It was one of those torrential downpours…the kinds that make you want to stay home and curl up in bed with a good book.  As a result, we were expecting less people to attend.  However, the Lord does not meet out expectations…He beats them!  I was told that the second night of the convention so many people came that the main hall was full, the over-flow room was full, all of the children were asked to sit on the floor on mats, and still there were more people.  I know they were not there to see me or hear me speak…they were there because of a divine intervention from God.  I was later told that over 700 people attended that night and it was the second time in the church’s history that they have had such an overflow crowd.

The Lord filled many people with His Holy Spirit.  Some we prayed for…and others spontaneously began speaking in tongues.  I was told that one young girl just began speaking in tongues as we prayed for the power of God to fall on her!  Another young boy, Ben, sticks out in my mind.  He was just so full of the power of God as He received the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

We saw the Lord perform miracles of healing as well.  For example, one Aunty we were praying for who had hearing loss said that she could hear better after prayer.  Another Aunty who had extreme pain in various parts of her body felt the pain leave her hands and other parts of her prayer as we began to pray for her.  Another man felt the pain that had been hounding him for years leave his neck as we prayed.

In three days, we had six meetings.  It was packed schedule, but the Lord gave us strength and energy to do everything.  I was also blessed to have a little time to visit with friends while in New York.

There is so much more I could write, but due to lack of time, I will stop here.

Scripture for the Day:
He said to them, "Then give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.”  Luke 20:25.
