I’m Still a Lawyer

On Friday Mom and I went shopping!  I got some pretty clothes.  But, the highlight was definitely when Mom started testifying to some shopkeepers.  I joined in.  We shared with them our testimony and about the miracles we had seen the Lord perform.  In fact, that very morning, we had prayed for our driver, Khan, and the pain in his knee had been completely healed.  When we were done sharing, the shopkeepers asked us to pray for them.  We prayed for the wife, who had chronic back pain.  She immediately felt relief.  As we prayed again, she felt the pain and stiffness completely leave.  Then the husband asked for prayer for his asthma.  We prayed.  Of course, he couldn’t tell right away if there was a change, but he said that he definitely felt the power of God.

On Saturday, Kutty Uncle brought his brother in law for prayer for healing from diabetes.  The diabetes is beginning to affect his vision.  As we shared and prayed with him, you could see the tears well up in his eyes.  It definitely appeared like the Lord touched him.  He also prayed and received the Holy Spirit (which I believe was a miracle because Uncle had told me that he never even wanted to listen to anything about Jesus).

I got a call from Mr. Mehta’s mom (the one we had prayed for regarding the cataracts and the heart problem).  Before we prayed, a few weeks ago, she had told us that she could barely walk from our living room to our driveway without having to stop due to chest pain.  But, over the phone Mehta Aunty told me that the other day they had been unable to get a rickshaw and she had been forced to walk quite some distance.  To her amazement, she did not have chest pain.  Mr. Mehta also told me that he had gone back to the doctor and the blood had stopped coming in his kidneys.  Praise God!

The power of prayer often blows my mind.  It all seems so unreal.  But…I know it is real.

Scripture for the Day:
25 And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” 26 He said to him, “What is written in the law?  What is your reading of it?”  27 So he answered and said, ‘“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and your neighbor as yourself.’”  28 And He said to him, “You have answered rightly; do this and you will live.”  Luke 10:25-28.
